Hip and knee replacements require a hands-on approach from the patient

Cabrini's Total Joint Replacement Program is designed to give prospective patients the ability to make informed decisions before surgery.

Patients can view an actual surgery, examine prosthetic equipment, meet with orthopedic specialists, and in short, are involved and informed about their own surgery.

Cabrini is one of only two hospitals in New York City to offer total hip replacement surgery, using the latest techniques including new technology that minimizes blood loss by transfusing it back into the patient through a filtered sterile system.

Hip and knee replacement surgery is performed in new laminar flow surgical suites, that provide a self-contained, ultra-clean air system, designed to maximize sterile conditions and minimize risk of infection.

Cabrini also uses the latest surgical suites, equipment and techniques to perform surgery of the spine, hands and feet, as well as reconstructive and arthroscopic knee, shoulder and ankle surgery.

After surgery patients are usually moved to our 25-bed inpatient Rehab Unit.
